Our Mission & Vision:

Decades ago, pioneering congregations of women religious made a bold decision to use their capital as a transformative force for good, rejecting a status quo of exploitative and extractive finance. We–the grateful inheritors of their vision for Catholic investing–are a community gathered and grounded by the Holy Spirit, which:

  • Builds conviction, capacity, and companionship among those who long to live out a finance and investment practice rooted in this vision; and,

  • Offers a space of hospitality and discovery for anyone seeking to explore the possibilities of capital as a force for good.

We are united as peers in building–each in our own way–an economy of solidarity, justice, repair, and ecological flourishing: an economy that breathes in the prophetic principles of Catholic social teaching.

WHO WE ARE

The Catholic Impact Investing Collaborative (aka CIIC - pronounced “seek”) was established in November 2014 as an informal “neutral space” for people to come together, share a meal and stories, and build relationships based on their spiritual as well as financial commitment to Impact Investing. CIIC was started in the U.S. Midwest, soon grew to the Northeast and other areas in the U.S., and is now expanding globally.

In October 2019, we launched the Catholic Impact Investing Pledge, an effort to galvanize the Catholic investment community to commit to take meaningful and accountable steps to incorporate impact investment into their portfolio in alignment with Catholic Social Teachings. This group has committed not only to maintain their focus on internal impact investment programs but is also helping to grow the broader ecosystem of Catholic impact investing.

In September 2021, we launched a Membership Program for Catholic asset owners and financial intermediaries to connect, collaborate and accelerate the flow of financial resources toward investments that measurably contribute toward integral human development and an integral ecology in alignment with Catholic Social Teaching.

In 2024, the programming and community building of CIIC transitioned to being led by the Francesco Collaborative team.

    We help our members find innovative and unforeseen opportunities for collaboration through the sharing of stories and best-practices.

  • Grow Catholic Impact Community

    As a result of sharing stories, building relationships, and fostering collaboration, we aim to organically grow a community of passionate supporters of Catholic Impact Investing.

  • Leave Room For The Holy Spirit

    At the end of the day, everyone involved in CIIC comes to the group because of a shared desire to be of service. Seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit is central to our identity and mission.
